Departmental Funding for Resident Travel

There have been some questions raised about the Department's policy on funding resident travel. If you wish to receive Departmental support to attending a meeting, you must do the following:

1) Have a presentation (or poster) accepted by the meeting organization

2) Request time away in writing to Dr. Szeremeta, at least one month prior to the meeting

3) Request funding from me in writing, at least one month prior to the meeting

Departmental support to cover registration, lodging and transportation, up to $400 per meeting should be available in most cases during this fiscal year. Availability of funding in the future will be determined on an annual basis.

In no case will requests for funding submitted post hoc be considered. Travel to a meeting for a resident who is not presenting, remains that resident's own responsibility.
